In order to celebrate my 50th birthday I have set myself a number of challenges to be completed in the tweleve months spanning my birthday to raise money for Love Hope Strength Foundation.
In no particular order, I intend to complete all of the challenges below:
Cycle 500km within 5 weeks.
Run 500km over the year.
Walk up 50,000ft of ascent over the year including walking up the five highest mountains in each UK “country” (Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Scafell Pike, Snafell & Slieve Donard).
Swim 5,000m in 5 consecutive days.
Run 50km of trail/fell racing events over the year.
Run 50km of road racing events over the year.
Kayak 5km in the sea.
Scuba dive down to 5m.
Walk up 5,000 ft of ascent after 5.00pm.
Descend 50,000 ft on a mountain bike over the year (off road) (& I can’t cheat by getting a lift up the hills !).
Cycle 50 miles on the A50 in under five hours.
Mountain bike 50 miles in under 500 minutes.
Ski at 50 mph.
Cycle at 50 mph.
Drink 50 different types of beer in 50 consecutive days.
I can’t remember last time I ran a road race, I’ve never run a fell race, I’ve only just bought a road bike, I don’t own a kayak and the idea of scuba
diving down to 5m fills me with dread !
If I don’t complete all of the above, then I will match fund the total amount raised and have a fundraising goal of £1,050.
