The Welsh 3000s (15 Peaks Challenge) with Love Hope Strength will take place the day before Snowdonia Rocks – ZipRoc.
There are limited places available so sign up now!

This incredible challenge, led by experienced guides, will see you walk 30 miles in 24 hours. You will need to be ‘in shape’ to achieve this.

The Welsh 3000s are the 15 mountains in Wales that have a height of 3,000 feet (914.4 m) or more. Geographically they fall within three ranges, all sufficiently close to make it possible to reach all 15 summits within 24 hours. All 15 are classed as Furths by the Scottish Mountaineering Club, meeting the criteria for a Scottish Munro, and are on the official list of SMC Furths.
The length of this challenge (from the first peak to the last) is about 26 miles (42 km), but including the walk to and from the designated start point, this will total some 30 miles (48 km). The record for the challenge (from first peak to last) stands at 4 hours 19 minutes. We will not be aiming to beat this record! The intention is to meet at a designated collection point near Llanberis to start the hike at 4am on Friday 14th June 2019 and finish the hike by 2am (aiming for midnight) on Saturday 15th June 2019.

This is the first year that LHS are organising this event, but it has been described as one of the greatest of all challenges in the UK. We have purposefully ensured that the challenge coincides with the Snowdonia Rocks and Zip World Rocks weekend, so you can celebrate completing the Welsh 3000s in style!

Important information for those wanting to take part.
The LHS Welsh 3000s Challenge will be staged over a 24 hour period, commencing at 4am on Friday 14th June 2019.
The hike group will be between 10-20 people total.

You will be accompanied by professional, experienced guides with radio communications.

There will be a dedicated back up team, in course transport, and suitable guide to challenge participant ratios.

You need to be reasonably fit in order to take part in this challenge. If you are not fit now you will need to be fit by the start of June 2019 and we recommend that you start training now for this. There will be a contingency plan, so if you are not fit enough on the day to complete the hike you can drop out and be taken back to the original meeting point / taken to receive treatment or further support as required.

You will need to bring a (large) packed lunch and wear suitable clothing (a suggested clothing list will be provided for you by the guides from Aim Higher well in advance of the challenge). You will receive hot snacks/drinks at two locations en route, provided by the guides.

The minimum age requirement is 16 years old. All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. All relevant timings, details and further information will be sent within two weeks of you registering for the event.

All those taking part in this challenge will receive a complimentary ticket to Zip World Rocks 2019, which will be held on Saturday 15th June 2019 at Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda.

Mike and Jules Peters, founders of LHS plan to take part in at least a section of this challenge. No other hikers are permitted to take part in just a section of the hike.

This depends on your level of fitness, but if you take part in this challenge it is unlikely that you will be able to participate in the Snowdonia Rocks hike on 15th June, the next day. You will be able to meet family and friends joining in Snowdonia Rocks at the lunch stop and be there at the start and at the end of the walk.

You will need to book accommodation / have somewhere to stay in Bethesda or Llanberis in North Wales for the nights of Thursday 13th and Friday 14th minimum in order to take part in the challenge. The aim of this challenge is to bring together a group of people who want to do something special and who want to take on an exciting and different fitness challenge, but most importantly it is also to raise money to support the Love Hope Strength Foundation achieve it’s mission. You will need to raise a minimum of £250 to take part in this challenge. You will need to give £50 to Love Hope Strength when you register (this £50 is part of the £250 total target, please see below for more information). You will need to raise a minimum of £150 by 01.05.19. You will then be expected to raise £250 by 01.07.19. We are aware that some people taking on this challenge have raised £1000s because it is an incredible thing to do, and they have received huge support for doing it from their local communities.
