Amazing Auction Ends Soon

Ben Nevis Rocks, Scotland and Pink Pop Festival, Holland, all in one day!

This year’s inaugural Ben Nevis Rocks will begin on Friday 24th August with an acoustic charity concert at the historic Inverlochy Castle (weather permitting), and indoors at the adjoining BA Club in Fort William. The Ben Nevis Rocks acoustic concert will feature unplugged sets from Mike Peters & The Alarm, Bruce & Jamie Watson of Big Country plus an all star rock and roll international style finale with all artists joining together to play a set of both Alarm and Big Country classics for the first time ever.

(NB: This event will replace the originally proposed post climb concert that would have taken place in the Nevis Centre).

The climb to the summit of Ben Nevis will begin at a very early 5am to allow for as many of the trekking party to reach the summit in time for the ‘Highest Gig In Britain’ with Mike Peters and special guests which will begin around 9:30 am, weather permitting of course!

(Nb: This early time has been chosen to avoid some of the heavy tourist traffic that will no doubt descend on Ben Nevis at this time if year. It’s also the recommended start time for the three peaks challenge which usually takes place around this date also).

Please note: if the weather turns out to be inclement then a point half way up Ben Nevis has been identified to host a concert at a safer elevation.

Registration for the climb will take place at the BA club on Friday 24th or for last minute arrivals on the morning of the climb just outside the Glen Nevis Information Centre between 4-30 and 5 am (Car parking available on a first come first served basis).

Following the climb, Mike Peters is being flown to Holland on a specially chartered private jet to play at the prestigious Classic Pink Pop festival (with Big Country), and LHS (in conjunction with Big Country and the Dutch Promoters), have secured a seat on the plane as a LHS auction prize.  All proceeds to benefit cancer care in Scotland.

All bids should be emailed to katrina@lovehopestrengthfoundation.co.uk and the auction will close on midnight GMT on Monday, 20 August.  Daily bidding updates will be available on the facebook pages on LHSUK and The Alarm and Big Country website forum.

The winner will be the highest bidder on Monday, 20 August and the winner must pay the bid amount by Wednesday, 21 August at the very latest to secure the prize.

Love Hope Strength Foundation have the right to alter the programme as necessary.  The winner will also have to have full valid passport, insurance and will have to find their own travel to Fort William and back from Solfest.

If successful that person will travel with Mike, Bruce & Jamie Watson from the foot of the mountain by car, to Inverness Airport and then fly to Holland to see Big Country perform in front of 25,000 people. Following the show you will then travel back to the UK aboard the band’s tour bus to witness Big Country’s headline set at Solfest in Cumbria where you will also be able to invite three friends to join you in the culmination of this once in a lifetime experience. The successful applicant will receive access all areas passes, food and beverage whilst in the company of the band and a side stage vantage point at both festivals.

We are hoping the auction raises a huge amount of money for cancer care.Good luck and happy bidding in this unique one off experience not to be missed!!!
