£20,000 to Cancer Care in Scotland

Funding generated through the annual Ben Nevis Rocks events, has enabled Love Hope Strength to make a £20,000 donation to the Beatson Cancer Centre in Glasgow.

The donation was made on stage during the recent sold out Mike Peters concert at King Tuts in Glasgow, with Alan Kilpatrick (a representative from the Friends of Beatson Cancer Charity), accepting the cheque that will help to make a big difference for cancer sufferers in Scotland.

Charlene Elliott, Head of Fundraising at Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “We are so grateful to Love Hope Strength for this incredibly generous donation. Alarmingly, more than one in three people are affected by cancer in the West of Scotland – the highest cancer rate in Europe. As technology advances and new treatments are developed, the demands on cancer services continue to grow so this level of support is so vital in helping us to continue to provide funding and services to enhance the wonderful care thousands of patients receive at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre each year”.

Beatson Cancer Charity is determined to beat cancer and is committed to securing significant funding to enhance the experience, treatment, outcomes and wellbeing of current and former cancer patients and their families.

“On behalf of everyone at Beatson Cancer Charity”, Charlotte Elliot repeated, “I’d like to give my sincere thanks to everyone who has been involved with this fantastic donation. Your support will go a very long way in the fight against cancer, now and in the future.”

The charity delivers a comprehensive range of patient and family support services including patient wellbeing and complementary therapy services delivered through our unique and award-winning Wellbeing Centre and throughout the Beatson Cancer Centre and related facilities throughout the West of Scotland.

Ben Nevis Rocks IV will take place this Saturday on June 13th and it’s still not too late to register and join Mike Peters and Love Hope Strength Foundation for the highest gig in Britain to further support cancer care in Scotland and help save lives around the world through the international ‘Get On The List’ campaign.
