Mike Peters / Alarm fan Mickey Collins from Lockerbie is planning to cycle unsupported from Land’s End to John O’ Groats (LEJOG) between 14 & 27 June 2014 to raise funds for the ‘Love Hope Strength’ charity.
LHS supporter Mickey explained that he is attempting the trip “for the challenge and the adventure but also to remember and honour friends and relatives who are either fighting or who have previously suffered from this horrible disease.”
Mickey who has previously written his LHS story on www.thealarm.com has taken part in the last two Nevis Rocks events but an unfortunate clash of date’s means he will miss this year’s walk but will be represented by his sister and 14 year old son Rory. Mickey has been training hard over the last few months, coached and mentored by LHS stalwart Lydia Franklin keen to share advice and experience built up during her epic ‘Route 66’ adventures last year.
Mickey has a dedicated Facebook page where you can support and follow his progress via regular light-hearted blogs and stories from the road – “Mickey’s LEJOG Adventure.” Please check-in and share the journey, in spirit at least, share a laugh and promote the LHS fundraising cause.
Alternatively you can sponsor Mike via a designated Just Giving page – https://www.justgiving.com/mickey-collins1
