My LHS Story – Mark Roberts

Thank you to Mark Roberts, a member of the Royal Navy Submarine Service, each year a Submarine Flotilla Golf Championship is held .  A charity is chosen to receive the proceeds of the Golf Championships.  2012 was our turn and thank you to Mark who nominated and organised the event and raised a grand total of £1300.

Mark said about the day

‘It was a brilliant day out, the weather was kind, I coaxed a non playing colleague to attend during the day to entice people to contribute to the LHS charity (fines, selling the wristbands etc). Then after the evening presentation, I gave a speech on the LHS Foundation and the organ and bone marrow registration, quite a few people interested, I had put the leaflets out on the 16 tables of ten people. Then it was onto the raffle (and more fines ie loosing a golf ball, going into water and bunkers etc.)’

Mark presented his  cheque to Mike Peters and Katrina Copping on top of Snowdon during this year’s Snowdon Rocks event.  Mark’s brother David took part in Ben Nevis Rocks as well.
