Love Hope Strength (LHS) was established here in the UK and the USA in 2006 by the internationally acclaimed frontman of rock band The Alarm, Mike Peters, and his musician wife Jules after Mike was diagnosed with leukaemia. The Peters family were determined to help save lives and give hope to other families affected by cancer.

Since 2006, LHS has organised events to help families affected by cancer to celebrate, remember and take on a challenge to show thanks and appreciation for the care and love they’ve received, help rebuild their lives and keep someone in their memory. Thousands of people have taken part in hikes across the UK, in the USA, South America, Africa and Asia in the name of Love Hope Strength, and over £1 million has been raised through these treks and associated activities. The funds raised have gone on to support cancer care programmes in hospitals and in community settings across the globe. In 2021, Love Hope Strength aims to raise £40,000 in recognition of The Alarm’s 40th anniversary.

As part of Mike’s plans to celebrate this impressive milestone for The Alarm, Mike and Jules Peters will lead a hike along Offa’s Dyke, the famous 8th century dyke built along the Anglo-Welsh border. This hike is tough; those taking part in the whole hike will walk a total of 177 miles in 12 days.
Mike and Jules will be using the walk as an opportunity to reflect on the challenges they’ve faced whilst living with cancer, remember some great friends and family, and, importantly to have some fun, play some music and take in the beautiful scenery whilst enjoying fresh air and strenuous exercise.
You are invited to join Mike and Jules Peters for the whole walk and for all of the 40th Anniversary celebrations, from May 22rd to June 5th.
If you are unable to commit to taking part in the two week hike, you will be able to register to take part in the walks on any of the following dates:
