October 8th – 20th, 2008
62 musicians, trekkers and survivors from 7 countries ascended upon Cusco, Peru to begin a 10 day journey up the Inca Trail to the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors around the globe and mourn the loss of millions, including one of our own team member who lost the battle just before our journey. Included were members of The Fixx, Fastball, The Alarm and musicians from United Kingdom and Australia.
The Peru Rocks Trekkers holding the prayer flags
Love Hope Strength raised money through friends, family, fundraisers and sponsors to fund the first mobile cancer unit which is estimated to treat 30,000 people per year in remote regions of Peru. Through our efforts we continued to bring cancer awareness to the globe and again documented our journey to show the world just what can be accomplished when you successfully beat the world’s leading killer. The Love Hope Strength Peru chapter is in formation and will continue to raise funds for care in Peru.
